Pine for an era when our national football team was capable of not losing to Iceland? Long for a time when half of the squad was called Bobby or Nobby?

Fortunately, England excels at dwelling on past glories, and by gad, it's be going all out to mark 50 years since Geoff Hurst scored two — sorry THREE (definitely three) — goals in England's 4-2 victory over Germany in the World Cup final.

World Cup '66 Live has Hurst himself — along with other '66 vet Bobby Charlton — as guests of honour at a Wembley Arena blowout featuring a minute-by-minute retelling of England's win, with big screen footage of the match, and live music from the era, including Chris Farlowe, singing Out of Time — number one in the charts that halcyon day.

Sherlock and The Office star Martin Freeman, meanwhile, will provide the voice of Bobby Moore.

World Cup '66 Live takes place at Wembley Arena on 30 July at 2.30pm. Tickets £28.80-£78.38.

It will also be broadcast in cinemas across London and the UK. And if you don't want to fork out for a ticket, it'll be live on the BBC.
