Know what the average price of a pint was when the UK joined the EU in 1973? A measly 14p. That won't even buy you a penny sweet these days (probably, we haven't checked).

Usually, you can only dream of such low, low booze prices, but on 5 August — that's International Beer Day, don't you know — Coin Laundry in Exmouth Market is flogging 200 pints of beer for... yup, 14p a pint.

By the way, apparently the average price of a pint in the UK today is £2.87 (that means since 1 January 1973, the average cost of a pint has risen by a mighty 1,948%). Even then, we'd like to see you find a pint anywhere near that price around Exmouth Market these...
