Visit The Supreme Court At A Rare Open Evening

Here's a rare chance to walk the hallowed corridors of London's Supreme Court, out of hours.

The grand Grade II* listed building, on Westminster's Parliament Square, welcomes the public to watch cases on weekdays, but because of the opening hours, many don't have the chance to take up this opportunity.

Four special tours in October and November will guide visitors around the court, including three beautiful courtrooms and the Justices' Library — not usually open to the public. Watch out for the striking carpets, which run throughout the building. These are designed by Peter Blake, most famous for the cover art of The Beatles' Sgt Pepper album.

Each tour is led by a member of staff who'll explain the court's role in the UK justice system (they call it 'the court of last resort'), the history and artwork of the building, and provide interesting examples of cases heard here.

Tours are on: 25 October at 6.30pm and 7pm; 29 November at 6.30om and 7pm. Tours last about an hour. Tickets £10, via the Supreme Court website.
