Ever looked at the Square Mile and thought it needed some searingly bright colours to liven it up?
Linda Kitson has, and is now creating iPad drawings of the City and its recognisable landmarks such as the Gherkin and the Cheesegrater. Even the star from the Pret logo makes an appearance, just in case you were in any doubt that the drawings are of London.
It's a big departure for Kitson, who has always been a pencil and paper artist in her sketching. She was once the official war artist for the Falklands.
She says:
With the continuous demolition, construction and expansion of London, there has never been a better — or more exciting time — to capture my home town. I just cannot resist it. It’s as if I’ve only just begun the business of looking at life again, and found so many news ways of describing it.
This is just a sample of her works — more will be on display in Fitzrovia, giving us a chance to see these creations in the digital flesh.
