Eerie Photos Of East London At Dawn

East London at dawn is a completely different beast to the hustle and bustle of the daytime and sometimes rowdy nights.

Fine art photographer Anthony Epes has spent a decade travelling the world photographing cities as the sun rises for a series called Cities At Dawn, and now he's turned his lens on this part of London.

He's captured locations from the stark brutalist architecture of the Balfour Tower, to the misty banks of the Thames with Canary Wharf rising up in the background, and takes a look at the vibrant street art that appears and disappears at random, to the imprint of new communities, foods and cultures.

The photos have been collated in a book including quotes about the area, called — appropriately — East London at Dawn.
