7 Places In London To Gear You Up For A Night On The Town

This is a sponsored article on behalf of Red Bull.

Gearing yourself up for a night out on the town? We suggest sipping a can of Red Bull, while getting stuck into one of these seven experiences. Afterwards, you'll be inspired to indulge in this magnificent city the whole night long.

1. Brave the heady heights of the cable car

Soaring 90 metres above London — with views of the docks, The O2, and the City looming on the horizon — is bound to set the scene for a night out. Board one of the Air Line's 'night flights' for a non-stop 25 minute return trip, complete with in-flight music, and twinkling views of London guaranteed to make your jaw drop.

2. Have dinner with a circus happening on your table

Forget elbows on the table — at West End restaurant Circus, hands, feet and various other body parts end up on the table during the spectacular evening shows. Fire-eaters and acrobats performing within a gnat's whisker of you, as you tuck into delectable Pan Asian fare. Now THAT'S how to kick off a night in style.

3. Be wowed by the South Bank skaters

The South Bank is renowned for its world class theatre and music programmes. But some of the best performers do it for free — and outside too. Be wowed by the stunts pulled by those brave souls at the graffiti-slathered skate park — and be kind enough to offer them a swig of your Red Bull. Maybe in return, they'll teach you one of their moves.

4. Dare to do open mic

Fancy yourself as a budding Sara Pascoe or James Acaster? The next Dua Lipa or Ed Sheeran? Put your money where your mouth is, at one of London's many open mic nights. From the New Cross Inn's acoustic showcase every Tuesday, to the hilarious new comedy showcase Party Piece in Hackney — this is one way to get your heart pumping and your fingers tingling.

5. Go for a bracing outdoor dip

A dip in the water is a great way to gear yourself up for a night out in London... especially when it's al fresco. Plenty of London's lidos are open year-round — including Hampstead Ponds, Brockwell Lido, the Serpentine and London Fields Lido. Caveat: only one of the above is heated... but go on — be bold and take the plunge!

6. Put pedal to metal on a karting track

Given the traffic in London, it's not easy to speed, even if you wanted to. But believe it or not, the capital is actually scattered with go karting tracks — one of them is even close to Tower Bridge. Feel the wind in your hair helmet, as you bomb round the track, pretending to be Lewis Hamilton, and forcing your mates to eat dust. Even better — as Red Bull's non-alcoholic, this is one drink-driving experience that's totally legal.

7. Get kitted out in style at Angels

Perhaps nothing quite prepares you for a night on the tiles like dressing up. But if you're looking for a PROPER night out, eschew your usual ASOS ensemble, for something with a bit more va-va-voom. We recommend Angels in Covent Garden — if you laid out all the fancy costumes in this amazing shop end-to-end, they'd stretch for eight miles. Whether it's Jon Snow from GoT, Princess Leia from Star Wars or pretty much any other character that pops into your head, these guys will kit you up, and transform you. Just prepare to be asked for photographs, everywhere you go on your wild night out.
