5. Go for a bracing outdoor dip
A dip in the water is a great way to gear yourself up for a night out in London... especially when it's al fresco. Plenty of London's lidos are open year-round — including Hampstead Ponds, Brockwell Lido, the Serpentine and London Fields Lido. Caveat: only one of the above is heated... but go on — be bold and take the plunge!
6. Put pedal to metal on a karting track
Given the traffic in London, it's not easy to speed, even if you wanted to. But believe it or not, the capital is actually scattered with go karting tracks — one of them is even close to Tower Bridge. Feel the wind in your hair helmet, as you bomb round the track, pretending to be Lewis Hamilton, and forcing your mates to eat dust.
