London's Getting A New Bar In A Train Carriage

A new bar, set inside a train carriage, is due to open on Strand next month.

Dubbed The Society of Exploration, the bar is the latest in the Mr Fogg's empire of eccentric boozers. The venues are based on Phileas Fogg, the fictional explorer in Jules Verne's novel Around The World In 80 Days, so are heavily travel-themed.

In this new venue, we're promised a Map Room themed bar, a Victorian train carriage, and the usual eccentric Mr Fogg's decor. Plus, expect it to play heavily on its location close to Charing Cross, the station from which Phileas Fogg's fictional journey began.

The company behind Mr Fogg's, Inception Group, is also responsible for the excellent Cahoots tube station themed bar in Carnaby, so expect great things from this latest offering.

The Society of Exploration, 1A Bedford Street, Strand. Due to open 14 September 2018, with bookings now being taken.
