Can you track down all 56 Morph sculptures, dotted across London?
"Morph's Epic Art Adventure" sees a brigade of Morphs positioned next to the capital's landmarks between now and 20 August. Each has been individually painted by an emerging artist. The resulting trail is mostly dotted throughout the City and South Bank, with one or two rogue statues in places like Notting Hill. It's been put together by Whizz-Kidz, the UK's leading charity for young wheelchair users.
Morph was an early stop-motion character from Aardman, the company who would go on to give us such gems as Wallace and Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Chicken Run. Our pliable friend first appeared on children's television in the 1970s, as a kind of mischievous desk-sprite for art presenter Tony Hart. He's since featured in a dozen shows, most of which are available on YouTube.
Aardman worked with Whizz-Kidz to put the trail together. When the trail ends, the Morph sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for the charity.
It's hardly the first character-themed sculptural trail to grace London's streets... hell, we're probably into triple figures by now. But such is the affection for this generations-spanning character, that the Morph trail is likely to be one of the most popular.
