And while London is a great place to get a taste of France year-round, it gets even better on 21 March: some of the city's top restaurants are laying on special French menus as part of Good France 2018.
The event, dubbed the world's largest French dinner, sees more than 3,000 restaurants across 152 countries come together in a celebration of French gastronomy. Participating venues have been hand-selected by an international committee of chefs, ranging from high-end bistros to contemporary classics, so you can be sure of an authentic meal.
So why not ditch your usual dinner spot, and swap it for a taste of the continent? A plethora of London venues are taking part, including high-end favourites Galvin at Windows and Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester, and renowned Covent Garden bistro Le Garrick.
This year, restaurants are laying on special menus that celebrate the unique culinary heritage of the Nouvelle Aquitaine region, and France's wine and cheesemaking heritage. The event will also pay tribute to the late Paul Bocuse — a legendary figure in the world of French gastronomy, who was known for his innovative approach to nouvelle cuisine.
