Rapper Tinie Tempah is launching his new fried chicken brand, RAPS, on Oxford Street in March.

RAPS pops up at Willows on the Roof — on the roof of John Lewis — for a four-month residency, and the menu will also be available for home delivery to selected London locations.

What's on the menu?

The RAPS' menu goes something like "chicken, chicken, a side of fries, chicken, blue cheese dip, chicken, pineapple hot sauce, and more chicken". Options include two different types of chicken wings, a chicken caesar salad, four chicken wraps, fries... oh, and a vegan option.

Struggling to choose? Tinie Tempah's own favourite is apparently the 'African Giant,' a buttermilk fried chicken 'wRAP' with homemade Jollof salsa, fried plantain, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. And if it's good enough for him, it's certainly good enough for us.

The soul food brand draws inspiration from hip hop culture and Tempah's own childhood, which he spent frequenting the chicken shops of south east London.

Tempah said:

It was really exciting to work on something where I was able to combine the food I love and grew up on (both in the home and on the high street) and the music that inspired me to be who I am today.

He has spent the last year developing the menu with Big Has, a chef best known for his YouTube cooking channel.

RAPS launches at Willows on the Roof, John Lewis, Oxford Street on 11 March 2022. Initial home delivery areas will be Shoreditch, Hackney, Finsbury Park, Dalston, Brixton, Peckham, Dulwich, Bermondsey, Camberwell, Vauxhall, Herne Hill, Elephant & Castle, Queen’s Park, Kilburn, North Kensington and Willesden, with more expected to be added later.
