Get Muddy In The Name Of Cancer Research UK

This is a sponsored article on behalf of Cancer Research UK.

Ladies — are you looking for something worthwhile to do in the capital? Get fit, get muddy and raise money for charity with Cancer Research UK's Race for Life events in London.

Whether you fancy training for a 10k run, want to opt for a 5k, or feel brave enough to tackle a messy obstacle course in the Olympic Park, there's something that will float your boat.

Sorry chaps, but Cancer Research's Race for Life events are women-only affairs — help out by sponsoring, or cheering at the side-lines.

Last year, Cancer Research UK spent over £129 million in Greater London, funding vital research and life-saving clinical trials.

All the money raised from their upcoming events will go towards research concerning all 200 types of cancer — every penny collected from entry fees and sponsorships counts.

Don't worry about being the next Usain Bolt or Jessica Ennis-Hill — all Cancer Research UK Race For Life events are non-competitive. Run, jog or walk — the only thing that counts is that you're part of the fun.

Book in now for a 5k or 10k on Blackheath on 2 July, or give yourself a bit more time to prepare with the Hyde Park races on 23 July.

If you're after something a bit different and fancy getting down and dirty, Pretty Muddy will challenge you to the messiest race you've seen — taking place on 10 September in Stratford's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this is the ultimate obstacle course.

Slip down the mud slide, crawl under the nets, climb over the tricky A frame, and wallow in the mud pit. This is all about having a bit of fun — you may need several showers after this charity fundraiser though.

Challenging? Yes. Worthwhile? Of course. Fun? Definitely. Don't miss the opportunity to raise serious cash for Cancer Research UK, in a choice of London's parks.
