Imagine Going To A Concert Inside This Futuristic Glass Ball

New images have been released showing potential designs for the cathedral-sized glass ball which is planned for an area of land next to the Olympic Park.

The structure will function as an 18,000 seat arena, and will be known as MSG Sphere London. It will host concerts and 'esports events' such as videogames tournaments.

Architecture firm Populous, which also designed the Olympic Stadium and is currently working on Tottenham Hotspur's new stadium, is designing the MSG Sphere London.

The sphere will be taller than the nearby Orbit tower, and the exterior will be covered in digital screens which will be used for advertising. Populous are also planning a near-identical sphere in Las Vegas.

Don't get too excited yet though — a planning application isn't expected to be submitted until the end of this year, so the reality may be a while away yet.
