Mo Salah's Football Boots To Go On Display At The British Museum

"That's just like the British Museum," said someone in the office, "Nicking something from an Egyptian and putting it on display."

Except this time, the artefact in question doesn't belong to a centuries-old pharaoh, but a modern day Egyptian legend. They are footballer Mo Salah's mint green X17 Deadly Strike boots, to be exact.

The footwear, belonging to the Gharbia-born Liverpool FC striker — and recent winner of the Premier League's Golden Boot award — will be displayed alongside ancient Egyptian sandals, and various other priceless objects in Room 61 of the British Museum, from next week.

Salah scored 32 goals for the Reds in the 2017-18 season, earning him the coveted Golden Boot. However, none of those goals were scored with the boots that will go on display: this particular pair has never been used.
