Where To Watch The England Vs. Belgium World Cup Match

Following England's impressive (and record-breaking) victory over Panama on Sunday, the hype is building for their final Group match against Belgium on Thursday 28 June. Both teams have already qualified for the knockout stages, but it's still likely to be a great match, the first real test for either side. Looking for somewhere to watch the England vs. Belgium match? Here's a list of places which have confirmed they'll be screening it.

Kick-off is at 7pm, making it ideal for the after-work crowd, which means places are likely to get very busy and we advise booking in advance where you can. Several places — including both Bounce venues, Last Days of Shoreditch and Pitch Stratford — have already sold out for this match, so don't hang about.

De Hems, Soho

De Hems is decked out for the World Cup. It may be a Dutch venue, but it does an excellent line of Belgian beers.

Although this is a Dutch pub, it has a strong Belgian following and does a decent range of Belgian beers to sup on while you cheer England on.
Free entry, booking recommended.

Lowlander, Covent Garden

This Belgian Grand Cafe will be screening the match — book a table for dinner to ensure you get a seat.
Free entry, booking recommended

Belgo: Holborn, King's Cross, Soho and Bromley

This mini-chain of Belgian bars and restaurants is offering a beer and burger for £10 during every World Cup match, including a veggie option. Again, the Belgian beer selection is excellent. Book a table in one of the four London venues to guarantee a seat.
Free entry, booking recommended.

The Dovetail, City of London

This petite pub is another which specialises in Belgian beers, as well as serving up moules et frites, croquettes, Flemish beef stew and Belgian waffles. You're advised to book a table to guarantee a spot — but to book a table, you'll have to be dining as well as drinking. Walk-ins are welcome... if there's space.
Free entry, booking recommended

The Water Poet, Spitalfields

Our go-to pub for any big event, The Water Poet will be showing the match on nine different screens throughout the pub and garden, including an enormous screen in the bar. Tables are bookable, but if you're making last minute plans, the size of the place makes it one of your best turn-up-and-hope-there's-space options.
Free entry, booking a table recommended.

Flat Iron Square

Celebrations at Flat Iron Square

The weather forecast is looking decent, so why not watch the match in the open air at Flat Iron Square. The Bankside street food market will be showing the England game on every one of its large screens, and you won't have far to go for refreshments. Some of Team Londonist watched a couple of earlier, non-England games here, and it gets busy, so get there well in advance.
Free entry, no bookings — first come, first served.

Fat Ronaldo's at Egg, King's Cross

Fat Ronaldo's — named after the legendary Brazilian — is the event taking over warehouse nightclub Egg, with six indoor screens, plus one on the outdoor terrace, plus pizzas and beer. A £10 ticket includes a pint or Pimm's, while £20 will reserve you an area, plus the drink and a pizza.
Tickets £10-£20, advance booking required.

Beer Merchants Tap, Hackney Wick

A new addition to our pub guide, Beer Merchants Tap in Hackney Wick has transformed its back room into a Football Beer Hall with capacity for 80 people. Half the tables are bookable, the other half are first come first served on the day.
Free entry, booking recommended.

Barrio Soho

This petite basement club guarantees you a seat to watch it on the big screen, plus games of foosball and Subbutteo, as well as drinks offers and half-time DJs — all for a fiver.
£5 entry, book ahead.

The Roadhouse, Covent Garden

Tense times at The Roadhouse

This Covent Garden bar is going all out with happy hours, drinks deals, burgers and four giant screens, plus live bands before and after the match.
Free entry, table booking recommended.

Piano Works, Farringdon

Private rooms and booths are available to hire to watch the match at this live music venue. Food and drink offers include burger, fries and beer for a tenner, plus cocktail hour runs throughout the match.
Free entry, booking required

Trapeze Bar, Shoreditch

Watch the action at Trapeze

Watching the match surrounded by vintage circus decor will make for a bizarre experience, but that's what on offer at Trapeze, along with food and drink deals designed for larger parties. There's a £50 deposit to reserve a booth, or £25 to reserve a table, both of which can be spent on food and drink at the event.
Free entry, booking required for tables (returnable deposit required).

Jerusalem Bar & Kitchen, Fitzrovia

Jerusalem Bar & Kitchen is showing every World Cup match, including this one, on two projectors. You'll have to book ahead if you want in on the burger and beer for £10 deal, or eight bottles of beer for £20.
Free entry, booking advised.

Tropicana Beach Club, Covent Garden

Watch the action at Tropicana Beach Club

At this particular Club Tropicana, drinks aren't quite free, but there are happy hour deals throughout the match, along with live entertainment and surround sound.
Free entry, booking required

Hoxton Seven, Shoreditch

This cocktail bar and American diner is screening the match in its basement bar. National dancers and DJ battles see the two nations go head-to-head in the warm-up entertainment, and special deals include four beers for £10.
Free entry, booking required.

The Shoreditch

This east London boozer is offering free, ticketed entry to watch the match along with competitions, DJ battles and a late night after party.
Free entry, booking required.

BoxPark Croydon and Shoreditch

Priority tickets to watch the match have sold out for both BoxPark venues, but you can still turn up on the night and hope you can get a decent view of the screen, and take part in the ensuing madness if England score.
Free entry, just turn up
