This Friendly Art Fair Opens The Doors Of The Art World To Everyone

This is a sponsored article on behalf of New Artist Fair.

Often, the art world is perceived to be a bit of a closed shop, and only those with the brains and budget are allowed in. The reality is quite the opposite: whether you've never stepped foot in an art fair before, or just fancy something a bit different, this one's for you.

Back for its eighth consecutive year, the New Artist Fair returns to the Old Truman Brewery from 14-16 September. It's one of the best events in the London arts calendar, and the perfect place for beginners to pick up their first piece — and pro-gallery hoppers will be wanting a look in too.

The premise is simple: to give you the chance to get face to face with more than 100 new, emerging and recently established artists. Entry is completely free, so you're welcome to browse at your leisure, and don't worry about not being able to afford anything either — this is one to suit budgets large and small.

Unlike other fairs, the gallery layout makes it easy to chat to the people behind the work, which really adds that extra-personal touch when you're looking to pick up a piece. Plus, many of those that feature at the event go on to exhibit in some of the UK's top galleries, making this a great chance to grab a bargain while their creations are still affordable.

Fancy going along, but not sure if you'd like to commit to a piece? New for this year, the fair has teamed up with Artfinder, letting visitors revisit exhibiting artists online throughout the year, rather than just over the three day event. Last year's photography zone will be returning too, where you can browse and purchase stunning shots from up-and-coming photographers.

For a special sneak peek of all the works on offer, don't miss Friday evening's private view. Running from 6pm-9pm, it's one of the most exciting nights in the London arts calendar, and features a DJ, bar, performance artists, live art, as well as the chance to see the best work before the masses. Tickets are available for just £7.50 here.

New Artist Fair: Summer Exhibition is on at The Old Truman Brewery from 14-16 September 2018. Private view on Friday 6pm-9pm, with free entry all weekend from noon-6.30pm. Click here to find out more.
