The Necropolis Railway Shrieks Into The London Dungeon

A Victorian train from the Waterloo area that brought the dead and their mourners directly out to a cemetery, the Necropolis Railway sounds like an absolute dream for the London Dungeon. It's actually surprising they didn't adapt it into an attraction sooner.
We're crammed into a railway carriage with the rest of our group, and a ticket inspector who's sanity has been damaged for the long and lonely 10 years he's spent working the route. We're already on edge, having experienced a whirlwind tour of the Plague and the Great Fire of London, not to mention a close shave with Sweeney Todd.
Coffins line the walls of the carriage, and the lights flicker constantly. We bump into a companion and let out something between a nervous titter and shriek. Then the real scares begin...
Without giving too much away, the Death Express — as it's now been dubbed — is one of the highlights of the Dungeon experience, playing second fiddle only to the terrifying Jack the Ripper section. The original Necropolis Railway was never particularly popular — when the termini was bombed back in the Blitz the view was it wasn't worth the effort to rebuild. London Dungeon will surely be hoping Londoners get much more excited about its latest incarnation.
The Death Express is a temporary addition to the London Dungeon for Halloween 2017. It's included in ticket price (booking recommended) until 4 November 2017.
