FESTIVAL OF SOUND: Cast aside your tinny pound shop headphones, it's time to start blasting your bangers as the musical gods intended. That's where the Festival of Sound comes in. HACKNEY FLEA MARKET: Nothing beats a nice rummage through some vintage treasures. And a bit of splurge is much easier to justify when you've really worked to find your perfect piece. With records, clothes, homeware, and all manner of curiosities, there's bound to be something that catches your eye at Hackney Flea Market. THE WHISKY SHOW: With over 600 whiskies from all around the globe to try, you're sure to find your dream dram at The Whisky Show's 10th anniversary festival. A translation-themed treasure hunt comes to Shoreditch

BATTLE BUSES: London's last four surviving B-type Battle Buses pull into Covent Garden Piazza for one day only. It's a rare chance to see these gorgeous pre-1915 vehicles while discovering the role the capital's buses played in the first world war. Covent Garden Piazza, free, just turn up, 10am-3pm

ZERO MKT: No animal products, no single-use plastics, no waste. That's the premise behind new not-for-profit market Zero Mkt. As well as cruelty-free grub, they've got all your other eco essentials, included upcycled accessories and biodegradable glitter. CHEESE AND CRAFT BEER: You cheddar believe it — a market dedicated to cheese and craft brews has arrived in east London. TRANSLATION TREASURE HUNT: You don't have to be a polyglot to partake in this interactive linguistic journey through Shoreditch. Head to the station, meet your team, and collect your mystery items before setting off on an exploration of how the art of translation connects people and cultures. ARCHWAY MARKET: Take a trip down memory lane at Archway Market, where local historians are gathering images and stories about the north London neighbourhood for a brand new project. COMMON GROUND MUSIC FESTIVAL: It's Common Ground's last free music festival of the season, bringing you 12 hours of top tunes from an eclectic range of artists. WOLLSTONECRAFT LIVE: Admirers of Mary Wollonstonecraft will be intrigued by this unique reading of Wollstonecraft Live!, a text the dramatises the shooting of a biopic about the legendary feminist writer. For extra poignancy, the event takes place in an 18th century chapel which once counted Wollstonecraft amongst its congregation. New Unity (Newington Green), £7.50, book ahead, 7pm-8pm

SARATHY KORWAR: This genre-defying musician merges jazz, hip-hop, Indian classical and electronics. Hear him play tracks from his second album, which features South Asian rappers and poets from the growing hip hop scene of Mumbai's Dharavi slum. Southbank Centre, £15, book ahead, 7.30pm

HARVEST DAY: It's all about autumnal fun today in Ruskin Park, which is flying the flag for local produce and sustainable living with a Community Harvest Day.
