Three Of The World's Most Expensive Airport Car Parks Are In London

Car parking at Heathrow Airport is the most expensive worldwide

London airports are home to three of the five most expensive airport car parks in the world, apparently.

Heathrow tops the list, averaging £187.50 for a week's parking, followed by Abu Dhabi International (£176.40) Stansted (£164.50), Zurich (£162.64) and Gatwick (£145). The worldwide average is £72.80.

The global airport parking index was put together by MyVoucherCodes, which took into account the cost of a one week stay without prior booking at the world's 100 busiest airports.

How much is that rectangle of tarmac costing you?

At the other end of the list is Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, weighing in at a bargain £22.54. For context, you'd pay more double that for just six hours in Soho.

Here's hoping we can soon use Oyster cards to get to all of London's airports.
