Guess How Many Mobile Phones Were Lost On The Tube Last Year

A staggering 34,322 mobile phones have found their way into TfL's lost property store in the last year, up from 34,045 the previous year.

1078 laptops and 71 games consoles also made the list, along with 10 desktop computers. All of the items were  left behind on public transport in the capital, which makes us Londoners look like a pretty careless bunch. The desktop computers surprised us, given that we've never actually seen anyone using or carrying one on the tube.

The research from Policy Expert revealed that London's 8.16million commuters carry a total of £516million worth of valuables on the tube each year, including mobile phones, tablets, jewellery, wallets and purses, and wearable tech such as FitBits.

There has been a 24% increase in lost items on London's transport network since 2013, including a 19% increase in technology gadgets being left behind.
