Night Tube Services Could Start Running On The DLR

The DLR could be the next section of London's transport network to run through the night, according to City AM.

Although there are no immediate plans to start operating 24 hour services on the DLR, it is being considered for when the current operating contract ends in 2021.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said:

Transport for London will consider the case for night services on the DLR, taking into account demand and other factors, as part of the procurement process for the next DLR franchise operating contract beyond 2021.

So far, night tube services run on the Victoria, Central, Northern, Jubilee and Piccadilly lines, as well as the East London section of the London Overground.

It is thought night tube services on the other tube lines won't begin until upgrade work is complete in 2023.
