Hollywood Arms

Hollywood Arms

This pub was voted one of the best in Chelsea by Londonist readers.

One of the many restaurants-cum-pubs so common in Chelsea, but much more relaxed than some of its peers. The main bar feels simultaneously loungey and semi-formal, with soft curvy seats and tables set for diners, but not begrudging drinkers. The rear Aviary area is perfect for small functions, a self-contained ante-room beneath a large skylight. Upstairs, past the penny-black wallpaper and olden-day photos, the Blanchard Room is one of the daintiest in west London, all pastel shades and chaises-longue. It's a complete surprise to find that this is a Young's pub, with a few brews on draught. This is more of a wine place, though, with a long list or reds, whites, roses and sparkles. A small cocktail list doesn't add much, although we like the sound of the Chelsea Vs Hoxton, which throws in gin from the latter district.
