Junction Tavern

Junction Tavern

Part of our Best Pubs in London microsite. See if we've included your local.

There are two major junctions in the area; the Junction Tavern stands on neither. While the main Victorian-era bar is thoroughly decent, and the front-room dining area is splendid for people-watching, it's the back conservatory and beer garden which offer the main draw. These quickly fill up in the summer, so arrive early.

The conservatory. That TV disappears when major sporting events aren't happening.

Were the drink choice a little more adventurous, this very good pub might be deemed excellent. As it is, three or four common ales and a standard range of lagers are joined by a somewhat more playful wine list (a Romanian Pinot noir?). Sunday lunch was thoroughly splendid — the nut roast more of a nut mulch, but in a good way.

Finally, a note on the staff, who went out of their way to accommodate the whims of our fussy toddler. Excellent service.

Nice Victorian features.
