The Albion

The Albion

Part of our Best Pubs in London microsite. Is your local listed?

"Handsome," is the word that most readily springs to mind when approaching the Albion. Set in a Georgian terrace and framed (in the spring) by wisteria, it would feel wrong to walk past and not pop inside.

Once you do, you're greeted with a narrow, comfortable L-shaped bar that wouldn't look out of place in some Home Counties village. That'll partly be down to the roaring fire (in winter), and partly because it was built so long ago that all around really was fields at the time.

So, we've got a fire for winter, wisteria for spring, but what of the summer? The charming and sizeable rear beer garden will do the job, which continues the wisterian theme.

And autumn? Try the traditional and award-winning Sunday roast. Gutsy mains and a wide choice of meats from carefully selected farms make it a winner, and there’s also a decent offering of veggie/fish options for the less carnivorous. Truly a pub for all seasons.
